San Guido Guidalberto Toscana is an extremely pleasant bordeaux style wine. This elegant “Super Tuscan” was created from Tenuta San Guido owners for mainly two reasons: first of all, the desire to see what they could achieve with Merlot, a grape they have never used before. Secondly, the desire to offer the consumer a wine that could be appreciated at a younger age compared to the veteran Sassicaia.
After over twenty years of analysis and experimentation, today Guidalberto is a wine with a clear temperament that well interprets the style of Tenuta San Guido. It embraces a style that seeks aromas and sweetness on the palate, characteristics that Merlot can offer even with relatively short aging.
TASTING NOTES:
The wine reveals aromas of ripe dark and red fruit, such as plum, cherry and berries, with spicy notes of cloves, cinnamon and hints of vanilla on the background. Mellow and silky on the palate, with juicy acidity that balances the fruit. A harmonious wine with vibrant character with supple and well-integrated tannins and a persistent finish.

San Guido Guidalberto combines with all kinds of meat: in the oven, on the spit or on the grill, pasta with meat sauce and cold cuts.
