André Lurton chose this name in honour of the two impressive stone lions that watch over the entrance to Château La Louvière. The grapes come from specific plots on the estate. The wine is very attractive: elegant, round and fruity.
TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Ruby red colour, with some raspberry reflections.
Nose: Very expressive nose, revealing gourmet notes of red fruits (cherry, strawberry), mixed with more mineral scents (graphite) from the barrel ageing.
Mouth: In the palate, the attack is supple. It is a wine with volume and fleshiness in the middle of the mouth. The tannins are present and well blended. The palate is well balanced, revealing finesse and elegance, with notes of red fruit – cherry. Nice finish.
FOOD PAIRINGS
Starters, white meats, vegetables, cheese, salads, red meat. This wine can be enjoyed with a salad of confit gizzards, guinea fowl with chanterelles, veal escalopes or old Gouda cheese.
