Description

Region:Pessac-Leognan AOC

Grape Varieties: Merlot 55%, Cabernet Sauvignon 45%

Nature has been especially generous to Château de Cruzeau, whose superb gravel rises with perfect sun exposure were predestined for winegrowing. Such natural gifts could only produce an elegant wine reflecting one of the finest terroirs in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The men and women who have made wine at Cruzeau since the 17th century have always worked hard to bring out its intrinsic personality and bouquet with hints of truffle and forest floor.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Beautiful red colour with purple reflexions. Deep colour.
Nose: Fresh fruit on the nose, red fruits (cherry, strawberry, raspberry). On aeration, a few vanilla notes emerge from the glass. There is very little evidence of barrel ageing. It is really the fruit that dominates the nose.
Mouth: The attack is marked by a nice touch of sweetness and some woody notes. The mid-palate is characterised by a lot of roundness, with the fruit notes quickly masking the woody notes and dominating the palate. It is a fresh wine, full of finesse and elegance.

FOOD PAIRINGS
Château de Cruzeau pairs well with game, vegetables, cheese and meat. It can also be enjoyed with smoked duck breast on toast, mushroom risotto or beef and potato fricassee.
