Description
Region: Entre-Deux-Mers, Bordeaux AOC
Grape Varieties: Merlot 60%, Cabernet Sauvignon 40%
Thanks to expressive fruit – but without excessive concentration – Château Bonnet’s red wine is unquestionably charming. In fact, it is a benchmark in Bordeaux. The wine is best enjoyed on the young side, although the quality tannin ensures good ageing for several year.
TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Brilliant colour, nice cherry red with some garnet highlights.
Nose: Expressive, the nose open out notes of ripe red fruits (raspberry, redcurrant), very tasty, with some toasted notes.
Mouth: Pleasant, very supple and silky on the palate. This Château Bonnet 2019 is well balanced and accessible for immediate tasting. There are gourmet notes of fresh red fruit (Morello cherry), but also dried fruit; all of this is associated with aromas of mocha and chocolate. Tannins are present, but round and pleasant. The finish is marked by slightly more woody notes.
PAIRINGS
Château Bonnet paiors well with starters, white meats, vegetables, cheese, red meats. It is a wine to be enjoyed with grilled meats, but also with lentil soup, quiche lorraine or chicken sauté with mustard and carrots.
