Description
Grape Variety: 100% Agiorgitiko
Etos is a cellar and bottle-aged, mature red wine produced only in exceptionally good vintage years exclusively from the Estate’s best vines and available only in limited quantities. Etos Agiorgitiko 2010 was released to market in 2023. The harvest year was outstanding for the Greek Agiorgitiko variety (literally St. George’s grape), which is grown in a designated low-yielding part of the estate’s vineyard with arid calcareous and clay soils at an altitude of 480m. After time in new French oak barrels, this monovarietal matured for several years in the winery’s underground cellars only to reappear for release 13 years after its creation. Etos Agiorgitiko has a deep ruby red colour with a purplish garnet tint. Decanting well in advance before serving it cellar cool at 16-18°C is recommended.
TASTING NOTES
Nose:On the nose, this mature wine intrigues with a refined bouquet of overripe red berry and black cherry, all harmoniously infused with scents of cedar, vanilla, dried violet petals and forest floor.
Taste:The mouthfeel is plush and well-rounded. The structure is firm with an abundance of suave tannins that underprop a refreshing acidity and fruity persistence in its untiring and complex finish.
PAIRINGS
Etos Agiorgitiko is a perfect accompaniment to braised red meats, various types of game, mushroom risotto, salumi and preserved whole cut charcuterie.
